21st Century Schools Initiative 2008-2009

My work on the 21st Century Schools Initiative in Louisiana in 2008-2009 has been focused on programs to advance student engagement, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and ultimately achievement measured by improved test scores, increased attendance, lower discipline rates, and improved graduation and promotion rates. The instructional technology group in Jefferson Parish has been doing fantastic work around Web 2.0 technology and content programs, integrated with the curriculum, by offering classroom embedded professional development. At Jefferson Parish, we have formed partnerships with local museums and organizations to create innovative programs using Web 2.0 technology.
