JPPSS students visited Jean Lafitte National Park and Preserve - Barataria to study the park's flora and fauna. The students are participating in a pilot program between Jefferson Parish Public Schools and the National Park Service, Jean Lafitte. The students will use technology, including the Internet, digital photography, video, and GPS, to research the environment, culture, and history of the park. The students' work will be shared on the park's website.
Ranger Ami Ghazala introduced the students to the park, where they took digital photos, video, GPS coordinates, and used dip nets to investigate the contents of Bayou Des Families.
